My Next Dream Vacation

This morning I said to my husband, "Can you believe it has been almost a year since we took our trip to Hawaii?" . We went to O'ahu during the last week of February in 2025 to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. The buildup to the trip was exciting! Especially the last couple of weeks before the trip. We watched more and more YouTube videos on tips and places to go. I had made a list of vegan food spots. We had booked the trip almost a year in advance. It felt like forever away. Then it came and went. It was a special adventure for us.
Hawaii was my dream destination for a long time. Especially during the pandemic. I would spend hours watching videos about Hawaii. Plotting which island would be a good one to visit first. When I decided on O'ahu, I watch tons of videos on it. I would love to go back to O'ahu and do the things we weren't able to do during out trip. I would also love to visit the other islands. Now that I have at least been to a part of Hawaii, I would love to go to my next dream destination, which is Japan.
Japan became another dream destination for me around 2023. I saw a YouTuber talking about it and something in me just lit up! Last year I started learning Japanese on Duolingo. (today I just hit a 304 day streak of learning).
I am not sure when I will be able to make the trip there, but it is nice thinking about it from time to time. Perhaps when we go, we can fly to Hawaii on the way there and stop at a different Island. Dreams are important to have. Even if they don't seem possible at the moment, you never know how they can come to fruition. Having them and nurturing them can lead you on an amazing journey in life. Trusting in what is meant for you will find you. When that moment comes savor it!
What is your dream destination? Have you traveled to one already? Where did you go? Let me know in the comments.

I so agree with you. Sometimes the anticipation for a trip is the best part. I've never been to Hawaii or Japan, so I'm with you—let's go!
