Recovering From A Rough Week & Getting Back Into Crochet

I was being pretty consistent with the July Ultimate Blog Challenge and then life hit me hard last week. Some really challenging situations erupted. I had limited capacity to keep up with my responsibilities. I needed to be really intentional on how I spent my time.

I was able to recover a bit over the weekend. I also took yesterday and today off from work. I am proud of a couple of accomplishments I had during the weekend. One of them being relearning how to crochet. I have been wanting to get back into crochet for a long time. I once made an afghan back in 2001. I haven't completed a crocheted project since. Over the weekend I made these four granny squares that will be used in a bag. I need to make 9 more.

The tutorial below was easy for me to follow and got me reacquainted with basic crochet.

After I complete the 12 granny squares, I am going to attempt to make this bag.

I love bags and excited about making one. I will keep you posted on how it goes. There is something very satisfying about completing the granny squares.

Do you know how to crochet or knit? What are your favorite patterns?

Hi, Jennifer! I’m sorry to hear you were unwell. I hope you’re feeling netter now. How cute are those granny squares! 🥰 I used to know how to crochet. One of my aunts thought me when I was a teenager. Later on my mother taught me how to knit with a wooden board and I even made a scarf for my husband (then boyfriend)! I’d love to learn how to make granny squares and I may use the tutorial you posted in your blog. 🤗
