My Monthly Art and Meditation Practice

My drawing from this month.
My drawing from this month.

Last year I discovered The Chapel Of Sacred Mirrors (COSM), located in Wappingers Falls, NY. A wonderful space housing the art of Alex and Alyson Grey. There are also various classes offered, monthly full moon ceremonies, and art church. Art church has become my favorite time for myself. You can attend in person or over Zoom. I luckily live about 10 minutes from COSM and enjoy attending in person. For 45 minutes music is played and everyone must sit in silence and create artwork, a poem, a song, or some type of creative reflection of the theme for that month. Alex and Alyson then share their creations and give everyone an opportunity to share theirs. They are truly wonderful souls, providing a safe a beautiful space for everyone to connect and share.

April's theme was "liberation". During the meditation, I received the message of "liberation from judgement". I saw a pathway leading to the sun. This drawing is what flowed through me. This practice has really helped me develop my self-connection.

Here are the other ones I have created this year so far.

I always learn something knew about myself or receive a special insight when I do this practice. Art is such a beautiful way to connect with yourself. I would like to create a daily or weekly art and meditation practice. Weekly is probably an easy way to start.

If you are ever in Wappingers Falls, NY, I highly recommend checking out COSM. You can also participate in the full moon ceremonies and art church online. What practices do you do that help you connect more with yourself?
