Addressing Arguments Against Veganism

Ed Winters aka Earthling Ed, is one of my favorite vegan speakers. In this Ted Talk, he addresses common arguments that are used against veganism. He also has a book out called "How To Argue With A Meat Eater (and Win Every Time)" that is a wonderful resource for any vegan who feels frustrated and intimidated by the questions and comments thrown at them from non-vegans. It's not really about arguing and more about how to have tactful debate.
As the only vegan in my family and at most social situations, I have heard it all. I used to feel intimidated by the questions and comments that would come my way. Over time I have learned how to get more comfortable and confident in these situations. There are people who ask questions from a place of genuine curiosity and then there are those who ask questions and make comments from a combative place. What has helped me over the years is share basic information with those who ask questions and then recommend a website that can go in depth with their particular question. When dealing with those acting belligerent , I simply say something like "I am not telling you what to do. This is a choice that feels right for me. I would like to change the subject now." Usually that ends it.
For my day 10 post of the Ultimate Blog Challenge, I felt it would be important to mention Ed's Ted Talk and book. They have been great resources that have helped me be more of a confident vegan. Ed has a lot of other great discussions on his YouTube channel. Check it out here.
What questions do you have about veganism that you would like me to answer? Let me know in the comments.
