Today Is National Dessert Day: Treat Yourself With These Three Vegan Dessert Cookbooks

ree

After seeing that today is National Dessert Day, I decided it would be a great day to share three vegan dessert books from my collection. There is this misconception that vegans are limited in what they can eat. This is far from the truth! There is so much we can eat, including decadent desserts. These three books are a great example that you can have amazing desserts without using eggs and dairy.

I haven't made anything from this recipe book yet, but I have heard amazing reviews from those who have. This book is loaded with classics. I do look forward trying out recipes in the future.

I can't tell you how many times I have made the Lemon Dream Pie With Pecans recipe in here. I have made it so many times that there are splatters on the cover of the book. It is so good and always a hit with my non-vegan family. There are so many incredible looking desserts in here that I would also like to make in the future. This is also a great addition to your collection if you are looking for gluten-free recipes.

I did a video on my YouTube channel showing how to make the Lemon Dream Pie With Pecans. You can watch it here.

This book is filled with veganized French dessert recipes. I had the opportunity to test it at the end of August making a birthday cake to celebrate the September birthdays of my husband and my awesome friend Kimberly. I made the Ultimate Chocolate Cake recipe and topped it with a mocha buttercream and sliced almonds. Here is a photo of the cake.

What is a dessert you would like to see me veganize? Have you tried any recipes from these cookbooks? Let me know in the comments.

Jennifer: I'm personally a fan of anything chocolate!

I agree that vegan desserts can be great - my son was vegan for a number of years (but had to add eggs back in for the protein), so those became part of our repertoire. Check out (if you haven't already) the cookbook for the Chicago Diner. And near us in Eastern PA is Vegan Treats, a store that specializes in vegan desserts that are incredible - I think they have a recipe book available as well.

I'm not really into the vegan thing but I'll go for a national dessert day all the time!
