Happy National Cat Day! Meet My Cat Menorah

Since today is National Cat Day (10/29/25) I thought it would be nice to do a blog post about my cat Menorah. Menorah was adopted on 12/24/11 at the age of 7 months. I had promised my son we would get a cat then for Chanukah. He had decided we would name the cat Menorah before we had the cat. On adoption day we walked into Sean Casey Animal Rescue in Brooklyn. There was a black and white kitten playing in her cage. My son walked right up to her and said, I want this one.

It has now been almost 14 years since we have adopted her. I have tons and tons of photos. Especially of her sleeping. There is something just so sweet about her curled up sleeping. Here are some highlights from over the years.

Do you have cats? If so, what are their names? Happy National Cat Day!
