Getting Back To Fun (My Love Of Creativity)

I shared at the beginning of this month's Ultimate Blog Challenge how I am currently recovering from a very traumatic situation that happened to me. I am being more intentional with my time and gently pushing myself to take care of things I need to take care of.
Part of care is focusing on doing things that are fun for me. I love arts and crafts. Since I can remember, I have always loved painting, drawing, and creating. I would take old tissue boxes and turn them into little houses. My dad would give me his old ties and I would cut them up and turn them into skirts or dresses for my Barbies. They weren't the best fashion, but I had fun making these one of a kind outfits for them.
I remember in elementary school I was always excited when painting or some other type of art project would be the activity at that moment.
As an adult my creative expression evolved. I took a cake decorating class and I made all types of fun cakes and cupcakes for my son's birthday's when he was a kid. I would also make them for other occasions. Painting, drawing, and collage making are still favorite activities for me to do. I love paint-and-sip events and pottery painting. I even have dabbled with crochet.
With all the stress I have been navigating, I am leaning more into creative activities as a fun outlet for me. A couple of weeks ago I bought a rock painting kit. I started working on a rock. I haven't gone back to it yet, but I would like to finish it up soon.
I have also been attending monthly Art Church events at The Chapel Of Sacred Mirrors. This event takes place with the wonderful artists Alex and Allyson Grey. They lead us in a meditation, then while music is being played, we have to be silent for 45 minutes and create art. Then we take turns sharing what we created. This is my second year attending and I absolutely love it! You do not have to live in the area to attend. People join in from all over the world through Zoom. Lately I have been feeling a pull to get back into crochet. I have dabbled in it and have always found it a soothing activity. I once made an afghan. I haven't completed any other projects. I have started some and then went on to something else. I would love to make a bag, and will be setting aside time tonight to work on it. I hope I can finish it!
What do you like to do for fun?

Hey Jennifer, I find creating one of the doors to healing. I've recently joined a watercolour painting course and it's so good to relax! And there's also my writing, which means the world to me! 🤗
For fun...? What's that? :p I enjoy much of life, because I choose to (is the short version of it).
Thank you for what you wrote - I think it's kind of where my head's been lately trying to get back to things that I used to think were fun like writing. I'd love to get back to knitting, crocheting, and doing some other arts and crafts, but I know not to jump into 10 things at the same time so writing it is for now.
