Ask Me Anything

ree

I can't believe today is day 15 of the Ultimate Blog Challenge! What's even more unbelievable is I have posted something each day! 🎉

Today I thought it would be fun to do an ask me anything post. What is something you would like me to talk about? Do you have any questions about veganism or people-pleasing? What recipes would you like me to share in a future post? Any other questions you would like to ask me?

Whatever it is (as long as it's appropriate of course 😂) let me know in the comments below. ⬇️

I am looking forward to hearing from you!

Congrats on making it to Day 15, Jennifer—that’s amazing consistency! I’d love to hear your thoughts on how to set boundaries with loved ones without feeling like you’re being selfish. And maybe a favorite quick vegan comfort meal too?

Kate, that is a really good question! Thank you for asking it! Sometimes we do need to do things we may not want to do or say "yes" to something we may not want to. In those cases I think it is important to be intentional. It also depends on the context of the situation. Is this a family member or friend who never takes responsibility for helping themselves? What is the line between helping vs. enabling them? Is there a resource they could be directed to instead? If I am considering doing something I don't really want to do, then I check in with myself. I ask myself questions like "why am I doing this?" "why do I not…

Barbara and Tamara, thank you for your questions! I started working on a blog post last week about how to deal with boundary violators. I am going to incorporate your questions into it and will try to have it finished and up this week. Eliminating people-pleasing behavior is a big part of the work I do.

My question is similar to Tamara—how do you protect your energy when you're around people I think of as energy sponges? The kind who take but rarely give, especially when you're in a position where you're expected to or need to care for them?

Do I have a question about people-pleasing? Is this your specialty? I mean, do you have tips on how not to waste too much energy on pleasing others, but to focus on your own needs instead? I am all ears. Saying no to nicely asked requests is not a forte of mine either.
