Apple Juice Never Tasted So Good

Today I almost didn't write a blog post. I haven't done two posts during this entire October challenge. Today is day 20 and my 18th post for October. With all the things I have been navigating this month, I am going to be kind to myself and celebrate the fact that I have been still keeping up with it mostly.
This morning I had a minor surgery and almost didn't write a post today. I was too distracted pre-surgery to feel inspired to write about anything. I wasn't sure if I would feel inspired or even up to it afterwards. When I was in recovery I was offered apple juice or water. I wanted the apple juice. It then occurred to me how it just tastes so good to me in the hospital for some reason. Why is that? So, I thought I would take a moment and share this.
Thankfully I haven't had to be in the hospital much in my life. When I had my son almost 20 years ago, I remembered apple juice tasting extra good to me in the hospital and then again last year after I had a colonoscopy. As I sipped my apple juice this afternoon post procedure, it was the best tasting apple juice also. I really don't drink it any other time. When I have, it doesn't seem to be the same experience.
So today's blog post, I just wanted to take a moment and share this simple comfort of enjoying apple juice in the hospital. Is there something simple you find extra enjoyable in the hospital or only during some other type of situation? Let me know in the comments.

I remember being grateful at having the opportunity to just rest, sleep, and let the healing happen without feeling that I had to get up and do anything.
Wonderful you showed up even though you didn't feel like it. I'm not much of a juice drinker but the first apple juice I made from my brother's apples tasted absolutely delicious.
I love this! It is something refreshing, yet you only get it in one place -- and now it has become a comfort whenever you have to be there. Thanks for sharing!
I love apple juice whenever and wherever I have it but I also totally get what you are saying! What an interesting little “thing” 💚
Hope you’re feeling okay now 💚💚💚
