A Special Day With My Dad

For day 11 of the Ultimate Blog Challenge, it was suggested that we share a photo from our latest traveling adventure. I recently talked about my trip to Hawaii in another blog post. You can click here if you want to check that out.
I decided to share a special photo instead from a trip I took to Las Vegas in December of 2019, with my son Joseph, to spend some time with my dad and step-mother. What I didn't know at the time was that this was the last visit of it's kind. The next time Joseph and I would visit together in February of 2022, my dad's health had taken a serious turn. In November of 2022 my dad passed away.
In this photo my dad is on a surfboard having fun. It was a great afternoon together, filled with silliness and laughs. We were visiting an immersive art experience at a place called Heazup, where you can be a part of the picture. (I can't tell if the place is still there. I didn't see recent information online.) Some of the immersive art created some great optical illusions on the phone.
Here are some other great moments from that day.

I am so glad we made the time to take this trip and create these memories! We had so many other wonderful moments from this visit as well. Perhaps I will share about those in a future blog post.
What is one of your favorite memories from a trip you took? I would love to hear all about it in the comments.

So sorry about your dad’s passing. Those photos make that day even more important than ever before.
i suppose everyday this month, as I share my videos I am sharing moving photo series of myself and my dogs- my trip is the journey I am blogging about, no!?!?!? I love your images of your Dad surfing but love the last image at the cafe! But ya needed the kianti bottle and breadsticks on the table, lol! Just kidding what a memory- keep sharing lovely!
This looks like such a fun place! These are the times with family -- when you can get them out of their comfort zone a bit -- can be the most memorable. :) A great memory with your dad -- thank you for sharing.
What a wonderful memory with your dad. How special that you and your son were able to have this time with him. This is all the more reason why we need to take those photos and preserve the memories.
I hate to admit it, but I haven't gone on any trips for several years. I've been working on my business and barely notice the passage of time each day. I know, I know,,,
